UW-Platteville Professor Recognized as a Standout Engineering Educator in Wisconsin

Dr. Philip Parker, instructor and program coordinator for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s engineering program, was recognized as a standout educator and researcher in the Online Engineering Professors in Wisconsin ranking from Online Engineering Programs.

Online Engineering Programs creates state-specific guides that explore online engineering programs, including the expected coursework, costs, and three exceptional professors. Dr. Parker was selected as an exceptional educator for the state of Wisconsin based on his experience in online education, his contributions to the field of engineering through extensive research, and his active involvement in professional organizations.

“Dr. Parker is an extremely knowledgeable individual and an outstanding educator,” said Dawn Drake, Executive Director of UW-Platteville’s Alternative Delivery Systems. “This recognition fully supports the great pride we take in the high caliber instructors found throughout our degree programs delivered in the online format.”

Dr. Parker’s main research interest is in the area of agricultural runoff and he’s the co-author of the sole introductory infrastructure engineering textbook Introduction to Infrastructure. Dr. Parker is one of the founding members of the Center for Infrastructure Transformation and Education. He is a registered Professional Engineer and a member of National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Engineering Education, the American Waterworks Association, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
